Michael Arndt To Write ‘Star Wars Episode 7’

Just a day after Vulture dropped a rumor that the writer of the 2010 Pixar Animation smash-hit, ‘Toy Story 3′, was writing a treatment for S’tar Wars: Episode VII’, Lucasfilm finally confirmed that Michael Arndt would be writing the screenplay for the first of ‘The Sequel Trilogy’.

Michael Arndt won an Oscar for writing 2006’s ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ and, as said above, 2010’s ‘Toy Story 3’.

Just after Disney had bought out Lucasfilm Ltd. for $4.5 billion dollars and announced ‘The Sequel Trilogy’ for Star Wars films as well as even more Star Wars films that would come out “2 to 3 years apart”.

‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ is set to blast into theaters sometime in 2015.

What Will Happen To Ahsoka At The End Of ‘The Clone Wars’?

I think it’s about time we start really speculating on what the heck is going to happen to Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker’s apprentice, at the end of Cartoon Network’s ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’. Many people have thought about this for years. Why have they?

In case you didn’t know, she was created specifically for this series. She is no where mentioned anywhere else in the Star Wars universe. If the timeline is suppose to be in the same continuity, then why is she never mentioned? What ever happened to her. The Clone Wars take place between Episode II and Episode III. She is not mentioned or seen anywhere in Episode III, so what exactly happened to her?

First, lets see two quotes from producer Dave Filoni.

“I think this is an incredibly exciting time for all of us. I am being reunited with old friends of mine from my Disney days and getting ready, like all of you, for Episodes VII, VIII, and IX. When Revenge of the Sith was over, I found myself in the incredible position of carrying the torch forward. Now I can see the incredibly bright light that is the future of Star Wars. For those of you who are fans of The Clone Wars, do not worry. We have many stories left to tell, and every one of them came directly from George himself. Right down to the last one, where that thing with Ahsoka happens.”

That is very recent actually. Just days after Disney bought out Lucasfilm for $4.5 billion dollars.

“I’ve done eight different endings for her. I’ll be talking to George about it soon”

So, like the other ‘What’s gonna happen to Ahsoka?’ posts on the internet I read, I’ll list some possible scenarios that play through my head.

1. Ahsoka is killed – This is the one everyone things about when they try and think about what is going to happen to her. I mean, if she isn’t even mentioned in anything else and she was Anakin’s beloved Padawan for years, something had to of happened to her so she wouldn’t even be mentioned. The only really logicaly thing to do woudl be to kill her off and say that everyone was so saddened by her death that they don’t ever like to talk to her. A big twist could be that she is killed off of a mistake Anakin makes, putting him in regret for the rest of his life. Or she can just be killed by Asajj Ventress, Count Dooku, Darth Maul, or even the Emperor himself. Emperor would be highly unlikely, unless no one would ever know who killed her since the Emperor is unknown till Anakin discovers him to be a Sith at the end of Episode III.
2. Ahsoka quits the Jedi Order – There is another way the characters could be so saddened that they will never speak of her again, it could be that she runs off with a love interest. Lux maybe? In one of the recent episodes of the beginning of Season 5, we see her letting her feeling’s get the best of her and becoming jealous of a girl Lux seems to care a lot for. Another scenario of her leaving the Jedi Order could be that she feels that the Jedi Order isn’t doing the right things and she just wants to live her own life so she leaves.

I’ve read countless scenarios people think will happen. But really, they all are extremely unlikely. Ahsoka being killed during Order 66 (Still she wasn’t ever mentioned in Ep. III), Ahsoka being hunted down during the Jedi purge by Darth Vader (Once again, still not mentioned in Ep. III), being spared by Darth Vader after Order 66 (Darth Vader went head to head with his brother [Obi-Wan Kenobi] in an attempt to kill him and he’d let a former Padawan off the hook?), Ahsoka lives and escapes Order 66 (AGAIN, she still was never mentioned in Ep. III).

It pretty much boils down to whatever George Lucas wants to do with a little input from producer Dave Filoni. Lets hope they make it good!

Mark Hamill On Star Wars: Episode 7

After the news of George Lucas selling his major company, ‘Lucasfilm Ltd.’ to ‘The Walt Disney Company’ for $4.05 billion dollars and the news that Episode 7, 8, and 9 were in the works, Entertainment Weekly caught up with Mark Hamill to see his thoughts on the newly planned sequel trilogy.

What did you make of the big news yesterday?
MARK HAMILL: Oh my gosh, what a shock that was! I had no idea that George was going to sell to Disney until I read it online like everybody else. He did tell us last summer about wanting to go on and do [Episodes] VII, VIII, and IX, and that [newly appointed Lucasfilm president] Kathleen Kennedy would be doing them. He seems to be in a really good place. He’s really happy. And that’s nice because I know that when we were making the movies, he was not a jolly guy on set. [Laughs] I always felt badly for him because he agonizes over details, and I’m sure after imagining it in his head for so many years, to see it realized — he’d look up and just hang his head and groan. Harrison [Ford], Carrie [Fisher], and I were always trying to cheer him up and joke him out of his doom and gloom. I missed his call yesterday, but I spoke to him maybe three weeks ago. But until we know more, it’s hard to make any comment other than congratulations to George.

So you met with George this past summer and he told you about his plans to make another trilogy?
Yeah, last August, he asked Carrie and I to have lunch with him and we did. I thought he was going to talk about either his retirement or the Star Wars TV series that I’ve heard about — which I don’t think we were going to be involved in anyway, because that takes place between the prequels and the ones we were in and, if Luke were in them, he’d be anywhere from a toddler to a teenager so they’d get an age-appropriate actor — or the 3-D releases. So when he said, “We decided we’re going to do Episodes VII, VIII, and IX,” I was just gobsmacked. “What? Are you nuts?!” [Laughs] I can see both sides of it. Because in a way, there was a beginning, a middle, and an end and we all lived happily ever after and that’s the way it should be — and it’s great that people have fond memories, if they do have fond memories. But on the other hand, there’s this ravenous desire on the part of the true believers to have more and more and more material. It’s one of those things: people either just don’t care for it or are passionate about it. I guess that defines what cult movies are all about. We’ll see. I’m anxious to know what’s going on, but the main story [yesterday] was the sale to Disney. I have mixed feelings about that, but they haven’t done badly by Marvel and the Muppets and Pixar. It’s one of those big decisions that at first seems unusual but then the more you look at it, the more it makes sense.

When you had lunch with George, did he get into any details with you about where the story would go in the next three films, or whether you would have a part in them?
Well, no, he was just talking about writers and the fact that he wouldn’t be directing. I guess he wanted us to know before everybody else knew. He said, “Now you can’t tell anybody!” [Laughs] Even now I’m nervous about saying anything. I just don’t know!

So the deal with Disney and the new sequel trilogy had been planned all the way back to August. Most likely even farther back since this was a huge deal and announcement for not only Star Wars fans and the film industry, but for the world.

The Potential New Star Wars Films Have

Think about. Really think. The first trilogy is of course the best and the one everyone loves the most, but really, think about the whole saga as a whole. The prequel trilogy is NOT in any way ‘bad’. Sure, it may not be as great as the original trilogy, but it is very good in its own right.

Do you realize how popular Star Wars comics, books, and video games are ever since Episode 4 in 1977? In case you’ve only watched the movies, you should realize that the stories told in some of these comics, books, and video games, heck, even fan fiction are some amazing stories.

So many great stories can be told in new Star Wars films. The news of new Star Wars films may have gotten somewhat of  a bad response since Disney just bought out Lucasfilm Ltd. Don’t get confused, Lucasfilm is still making the movies, Disney will just distribute them. Imagine film adaptions of your favorite comics, books, and video games. Here, take a look at this little list and tell me seeing them on film wouldn’t be awesome.

A prequel trilogy to Episode I would probably screw up the Episode numbering but who cares. List the trilogy as Episodes, -2, -1, and 0.

How could they ever make all of these films if they said they’re gonna make a new trilogy with Episode 7, 8, and 9 you ask? In case you didn’t catch it, they’re planning to release new Star Wars films every two to three years. So they could explore a TON of ideas throughout the years. Also, if you’re wondering why I didn’t say anything about a trilogy that would take place after Episode 6, that’s exactly what Episodes 7, 8, and 9 are for.

Star Wars is HUGE in pop culture and if these films are good, especially if Episode 7 will be, then this could be a MAJOR WIN for the Star Wars universe, Lucasfilm, and Disney. Use the force, Disney…

Star Wars Episode 7 & New Trilogy Coming 2015 – Disney Buys Out Lucasfilm Ltd.

 

HOLY ASFNLSDFKGNLNKSDJNKSJANFJN FREAKING CRAP! WHOEVER THOUGHT WE’D SEE THE DAY!?!?! SUCH A WONDERFUL DAY FOR STAR WARS FANS (SORT OF)!!!!

On this very day of October 30, 2013, Disney has bought out Lucasfilm Ltd. for $4.05 billion dollars. So far, this sounds disastrous for true Star Wars fans… But wait, don’t sweat it, depending on how much of a die hard fan you are, this could be somwhat of good news.

The seventh movie, with a working title of “Episode 7,” is set for release in 2015. Episodes 8 and 9 will follow. The new trilogy will carry the story of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia beyond “Return of the Jedi,” the third film released and the sixth in the saga. After that, Disney plans a new “Star Wars” movie every two or three years. Lucas will serve as the creative consultant for the new movies.

“For the past 35 years, one of my greatest pleasures has been to see ‘Star Wars’ passed from one generation to the next,” said Lucas, chairman and CEO of Lucasfilm Ltd. “It’s now time for me to pass ‘Star Wars’ on to a new generation of filmmakers. I’ve always believed that ‘Star Wars’ could live beyond me, and I thought it was important to set up the transition during my lifetime.” Courtesy of MSN.com

Working title of Episode 7 seems pretty obvious… I mean come on. I am pretty excited about new Star Wars movies. Lots of people will probably be outraged that they’re gonna make more since most people did not like the prequel trilogy at all. Well, think of it this way. It’s still Star Wars and will be set in the official storyline. Lucas is also a consultant for all the new films to come. I am only worried about the part where it says that even more films will follow after the new trilogy every ‘two or three years’. That might be a little too much. I think they should just wait and see how the new trilogy is then see what they’re gonna do from then on. 

The criticism grated on Lucas, who vowed never to make another “Star Wars” movie during an interview with The New York Times earlier this year.

“Why would I make any more when everybody yells at you all the time and says what a terrible person you are?” Lucas told the Times.

So Lucas is somewhat of a lier, oh well! Who cares!? We get more Star Wars.

Plus, we all knew this was destined to happen… I mean Disney is going to buy out the United States within the next five years since they also just bought out Marvel in 2009 and Pixar in 2006.

‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ Season 5 Premiere Review – 5.01

This was really good. To be honest, when I was getting the scoring cards ready before I watched the premieres, I already gave ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ a 5-star rating because I knew it was going to be great and 5-star worthy. And it turns out it was.

Like all of the other Clone Wars episodes, it’s got the episodal duel, the conlfict, and the main characters were going through. This episode, we’ve got Darth Maul and Savage Opress working together to cause some more damage to the Republice. Darth Maul, filled with her hatred, doesn’t want to be equal with his partner, but wants to be his master, making Savage his apprentice. Savage of course denies he will step down to apprentice, so they get into a scuffle and Darth Maul wins. They then decide they’ll go see the Pirates to see if they can get help by stealing their men. To their suprise, Obi Wan and a friend of his own, Adi Galla, come and spoil the party.

Jedi and Sith then converge in lightsaber battles. This is where the fun started. And you know, this show is EXTREMELY DARK for a kids show. Adi Galla being stabbed in the stomach with Savage’s horns then being literally stabbed in the head offscreen. Darth Maul choking and breaking a droids neck which is still pretty graphic considering this is a kids show. There’s nothing wrong with it, I love it actually. It adds more emotion to the story. We really get to feel how the Sith feel.

So anyways, Darth Maul and Savage Opress get away even though the Pirates think they vaporized in the crash of their cargo ship, but Obi Wan doesn’t think so. GET READY FOR MORE DARTH MAUL AND SAVAGE OPRESS ACTION PEOPLE AND MORE FIGHTS WITH OBI WAN!

‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ Season 5 Preview – Cartoon Network

Holy crap! For some reason, I just never felt like looking this full trailer for Season 5 of ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ up! This looks to be that Season 5 will be the best season yet of The Clone Wars. I’m serious too. It looks amazing.

Through the years and seasons, not only have the graphics and visuals been getting better, but the storylines have been getting better too. Bringing back Darth Maul in Season 4 was boss since we all loved Darth Maul from ‘The Phantom Menace. He barely got any screentime in that movie and only spoke like two, three word sentences. Now we get to see more of the Sith we love.

Not only do we see more Darth Maul, we get to see some R2D2 and his droid buddies go on a black operation into a separatist ship to get an encryption key. Anakin has been seen so much with R2D2 that you’d think people would know all about him being Anakin’s droid, since Anakin is also one of the most famous Jedi of that time.

We also get some new Sith action with some guys trying to destroy the Jedi temple, Anakin in a subway beating some guys up, and some Ashoka having doubts about the Jedi being good again. You know, we don’t see so much of Ahsoka in this trailer, it’s strange, since she is one of the main characters in the show. This is also rumored to be the last season. We don’t see her in Episode III or with Anakin any other times after The Clone Wars. Does that mean she will die? UPDATE: After watching the trailer for over 5 times, I have scene the less than 1 second clip that shows Asajj Ventress as the mysterious Sith person with the new mask. See below:

Don’t forget about the Padme and Anakin relationship. Padme has an affair or some guy comes at her with bad intentions, so Anakin goes psycho and pulls his lightsaber out but then resorts to punching him while Padme screams in horror.

Earlier in the trailer, we see Darth Maul and Savage Opress offer the Death Watch a way to get back Mandaloria for themselves, but later we see the leader of the Death Watch, Pre Vizula and Darth Maul go at it while Pre Vizula uses his trademark black lightsaber.

The absolute best part of this trailer is the Emperor going at it with Darth Maul and Savage Opress. The Emperor says that there can only be two Sith, then why was Asajj ever with them? He contradicts himself. He’s old, it’s believable. At the very end of the trailer, if you watch closely, the Emperor electrocutes some horned man, obviously either Darth Maul or Savage Opress.

I also heard that this season was rumored to be the last of The Clone Wars. Keep your hopes up that it won’t be, and if it is, lets hope they end it with a bang!

Season 5 of ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ premieres Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 9:30 AM on Cartoon Network. For now on, it will always be Saturdays at 9:30 AM on Cartoon Network.

Star Wars 3D Release Dates Of Episodes 2 & 3 Revealed

Good news Star Wars fans! Or just to Star Wars fans who don’t hate the prequel trilogy with a passion! The release dates for Episodes II and III of the Star Wars 3D Re-Releases that Lucasfilm plans (planned) for once a year have been released Via Twitter yesterday!

So ‘Star Wars’ Episode II: Attack Of The Clones’ will be released in 3D September 20, 2013 then one month later, ‘Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith’ will be released in 3D in October 11, 2013.

I suppose I should review this past February’s ‘The Phantom Menace’ in 3D, so I can do Episodes II and III as they re-release.

But don’t worry original trilogy fans, with the back-to-back premieres of the last two films in the prequel trilogy, we’ll most likely get to see the original trilogy much sooner.
