New ‘Looper’ International Poster

If you’ve seen ‘Looper’ and thought it was cool, then you should be interested in this international poster released a couple days ago. It’s creative and retro, much like the old Star Wars, Indiana Jones, or Blade Runner posters with a montage of characters and images from the film in a painting.

Looper seems of had some pretty creative and unique marketing. First the animated trailer which was so ultra-awesome then this. Whoever thought of these ideas is awesome and should be given a raise.

‘Looper’ is in theaters now.

‘Gangster Squad’ Trailer #2 Review – January 11, 2013

As we reported earlier this summer, ‘Gangster Squad’ was going to have some of the film be re-shot and delayed due to the Colorado movie theater shooting at the midnight premiere of ‘The Dark Knight Rises’. Parts of the film were to be rewritten and shot since there was a part in the trailer where men with tommy guns came from behind the screen in the theater and shot the crowd.

The re-shoots are done and we have a new trailer for the upcoming gangster epic. Yes, it does look epic. And to be honest, I think this new trailer is in fact better than the one with the shooting into the crowds of the theater. I think they went all out on this trailer to make up for the delay. If you still remember the other trailer before it was taken down and re-edited, then you watch this one, you’ll know that this trailer has a CRAPLOAD of more footage.

Sean Penn as Mickey Cohen looks to be a keeper with the “You’re talking to God, so you might as well swear to me”. You know, I’m still torn about this movie though. It looks REALLY good and seems to have a lot of new parts that will make up for the shooting into the crowds of the theater scene. This trailer makes it look amazing, but I’m still afraid that it will just be one of ‘those gangster movies’ and not like the greats like Goodfellas, The Godfather, Donnie Brasco. Of course, it can’t beat The Godfather or Goodfellas, but I do think it can be ask good as Donnie Brasco. I’m hoping. You’re hoping. We’re all hoping.

‘Gangster Squad’ hits theaters January 11, 2013. Don’t miss it!

Animated ‘Looper’ Trailer Review – September 28, 2012

When I first saw this, it was on a small and bad quality cell phone. I was like “What the? Is this fan made? It sucks!” I then watched it when I got home and loved it. It doesn’t show anything new, and if it does, we probably wouldn’t notice anyways.

It’s different. It’s unique. It’s original. That’s what all great things in movies and video games and TV and everything are. The marketing team or whoever thought up this idea for the animated trailer was thinking outside the box. This is what we need. Even the stupid things that are thought of outside the box. They can be built upon.

Anyways, it’s not just straight up professional animation like you see in cartoons, it’s the inconsistencies and moving colors and lines that make it amazing and interesting. If anything, this trailer just gets me more pumped up for the movie. I have a feeling, this is going to be REALLY GOOD.

See ‘Looper’ in theaters September 28, 2012 with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, and Emily Blunt.

Some fresh behind the scenes photos of Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin to remind us that Gangster Squad is still coming soon. I’m especially looking forward to the scene that fifth photo is for, since it looks awesome.

First ‘Looper’ Clip Flies Online

If you haven’t seen this yet, then you probably haven’t seen any of the trailers. This scene is in pretty much all of the trailers released for ‘Looper’ just in a faster pace.

You know what I do not understand. Bruce Willis can just tell him what’s gonna happen in the end, but he doesn’t. Of course, he said he doesn’t want to be making diagrams. But he should remember all of this when he was young. It’s just so confusing since time travel doesn’t make sense. Especially meeting your older or younger self in time is a huge paradox. That’s the only reason why I don’t like time travel movies.

After Bruce Willis beats his younger self up, he’s like “Oh man, what do I do now…” Lol. It’s pretty funny, the look on his face. And JGL (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) just wanting to kill his future self just like that? Does he realize that he won’t live past that age or day if he suceeds in killing himself? Sure, you have a job to do, but you’re trying to kill yourself in the future! Come on!

What if your mother, wife, or baby from the future showed up? Would you kill them? No you wouldn’t.

‘Warface’ Trailer Review – PAX Prime 2012

This looks pretty cool. Wikipedia “Warface is a free-to-play multiplayer military shooter in a “near future” setting.” It is also exclusively for the PC. Sorry Macs.

But when you think of it, when are any first person shooters good besides the Call Of Duty’s and the Battlefield’s and a couple other small games. Or free online ones, only Team Fortress 2 is a good shooting game for online.

The story looks like I wouldn’t care about it. I’d probably just try it out so I can shoot and kill people. What other reason would you choose to play a shooting game?

The graphics looked nice. It looks a lot like Battlefield4Free Online to be honest.

‘Warface’ is scheduled for release from Crytek in December 2012 or January 2013.

‘Gangster Squad’ To Be Re-Shot And Premiere Delayed

The following does not represent the views of Retrospect Realm as a whole, but only the author of this post. We mean no disrespect to anyone but to put out our own opinions on most recent movie news. Thank You.

After the horrific Colorado shooting at The Dark Knight Rises premiere in Aurora, Warner Bros. refrained from showing Gangster Squad trailers before movies across the nation in honor of the victims of the shooting. Why? In the trailer a scene is shown at Grauman’s Theater where Mobsters come from behind the screen and shoot wildly into the crowd presumably killing people. Warner Bros. has decided to go even further as to re-cut the film, re-shoot parts of the film, and delay the release date.

A shocking blow to fans of Gangster movies, since the scene does look pretty awesome. I mean no disrespect to anyone, but Warner Bros should not be going this far. The scene looks great and looked awesome in the trailer to ‘Oh My God’ by Jay-Z. Sure, it may disturb some people, but come on. If you think it’ll disturb you then don’t see it. That’s what MPAA ratings are for.

Switching up the scenes in this movie won’t change the fact that one psychotic man when on a killing spree in a theater. Warner Bros. even went as far as to block the trailer online in the United States. Why are you doing this to us? PLEASE. Not only does the re-cuts and re-shoots delay the film by more than four months, but the film also will no longer be in the running for Oscar nominations.

Warner Bros. has chosen to delay the release date from September 7, 2012 to January 11, 2013.

Do you think Warner Bros. should be changing Gangster Squad? Tell us in the comments or by email!

Miss the footage since Warner Bros. blocked it all on the internet for the United States? Here you go. Watch it before it’s taken down.

‘Gangster Squad’ Trailer Review

Warner Bros. has removed all Gangster Squad trailers online in the United States due to recent events. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.

Anything that has to do with gangsters or the mob I’m generally always interested no matter who is in the movie, who’s writing it, who’s directing it, etc. If it’s about gangsters, it’s usually good. And that seems to be the case about all gangster movies. As a heads up, Retrospect Realm will be having Mob Week with AMC next week starting Monday, July 30, 2012.

Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, Sean Penn, and Emma Stone? YESSSS. I love the cast. The trailer looks like it shows us that 30s-50s look beautifully. The clothes, set pieces, etc. The story seems to be nice too. The classic, Cops Vs. Gangsters.

Also, they’re going to re-cut this film after the recent mass shooting at theaters. I’ll talk about that in a different post. Stay tuned!

‘Looper’ Trailer 2 Review

This trailer is even better than the first one. I mean, the plot looks pretty awesome and unique. Congrats to Hollywood for thinking of something original once more.

Another Bruce Willis action movie? That’s guaranteed to be a good one. And Joseph Gordon-Levitt? He’s a boss. They even made him look sort of like a young Bruce Willis. If I hadn’t seen the Die Hard movie, that’s how I’d think Bruce Willis would look if he was young.

I assume Bruce Willis would have been through all of JGL’s events since they are the same person but from different time periods. The problem with these movies and TV shows where people come from the future to help is that they always never know what to do. Time is continous, so wouldn’t they remember how they solved it before? And wouldn’t their future self had been there too when they were young? And the same for that future self? It’s a paradox. I just don’t understand why Bruce Willis can’t just be like “Alright, this is what we’re gonna do…”

This one looks pretty freaking awesome. I’ll definitely go see this in theaters when it comes out.
