‘The Last Stand’ 2013 Trailer Review

This looks like an excuse to put Arnold Schwarzenegger as an old guy who beats people up and impresses everyone. Seriously, there seems to be nothing special about this. It’s got Arnold and his weird annoying Argentinian accent, that weird black guy with the eyes, and the story is just another excuse to make an action movie.

It’s like they said,

  • 1- “Hey, lets make an action movie. Go watch a bunch of action movies, take one of the stories used a million times that people will forget and we’ll use it”
  • 2- “Well, how about drug cartels coming after a sherrif?”
  • 3- “Nice, but we’ll need one of those former badasses to play an old sherrif who can still kick ass”
  • 4- “But sir, the only one anyone cares about is Sylvester Stallone, and he’s obsessed with making stupid films filled with random action these days”
  • 5- “Well, he’d fit perfect in this role, but lets get someone more annoying”
  • 6- “ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER!”
  • 7- “YES”

This looks about the same as Stallone’s ‘Bullet To The Head’ except it doesn’t have Sarah Shahi, so who cares about this. And tell me why some hardcore ex-CIA commando or something would be working as a sherrif? And why would they call a sherrif anyways to take down a drug cartel?
