‘Person Of Interest’ Season 2 Premiere Review – 2.01

My favorite show on television is back! The CBS hit Drama series, ‘Person Of Interest’ returns off of the huge Season 1 cliffhanger we were left with! With the whole main cast returning for a second season, Jim Caviezel (John Reese), Michael Emmerson (Harold Finch), Taraji P. Henson (Detective Joss Carter), season two is expected to be just as exciting as the first.

In the beginning of the episode, we finally get to hear what Reese hears while picking up the payphone. Letters are read to Reese as he immediately goes to FInch’s lair and deduces what the letters mean.  He uses Finch’s books in his personal library to find that Finch is read the numbers from the Machine in which he uses the Dewey Decimal System to put the numbers together for a social security number. He finds the man who the social security number belongs to thinking it will lead him to Finch. To Reese’s surprise, Finch and the Machine did not intend for the Machine to help find out what happened to Finch if anything ever happened to him, but to have the ‘Contingency’ continue on the work, being Mr. Reese.

Reese goes on taking care this week’s trouble making and tricky person of interest, Leon, while still trying to track down Finch. He continues to talk to cameras while appearing insane to Leon. The Machine finally gives in and decides to help John. The Machine gives John a newspaper article of a missing 14-year old in Texas many years ago, Caroline Turing, or known as ‘ROOT’, Finch’s kidnapper. Reese shows up at Carter’s house and tells her to pack her bags because they’re Texas.

With this weeks flashback, we get Finch taking the Machine out for some test runs and training it to ‘protect everyone’ and not himself, which would explain why the Machine initially made no effort to look for Finch after he went missing. The Machine is seen to have a few bugs which Finch will eventually iron out.

Finch and Turing or, ‘Root’, have conversations in restaurants, diners, and stores, throughout the episode, with Turing praising Finch for his masterpiece. She then reveals that she doesn’t want to control the Machine after Finch says he won’t help her do it. She says she wants to ‘set it free.

Verdict: Returning with the tricky plot twists and government conspiracy that we loved in Season 1, Person Of Interest is sure to be just as great as the previous season… especially since Reese has a new dog. 😀

See the promo to Episode 2, ‘Bad Code’, which airs this Thursday at 9 PM, below!

‘Revolution’ – “The Fight for Power Begins” NBC Promo

NBC’s new show ‘Revolution’ premieres today, and I must say, this Promo destroyed my hopes and dreams for it. Now, don’t get me wrong, we always need more Post apocalyptic shows on TV, but this show just doesn’t seem to click.

The voice in the beginning just does not fit what this show seems to be going for, in my opinion. The music choice is also horrible. It’s all uplifting, but the premises (I wont say anything, but lets just say the information of the premises is on a website that rhymes with “Pickiwedia”) seemed a lot darker than what this promo is trying to make it out to be. It could just be that Florence + The Machine sucks, but I think it’s more than that.

Tune in today at 10 PM EST to find out how this show turns out.

‘Person Of Interest’ Season 2 Promo Released

Now this is literally my favorite show on television. Probably, one of my most favorite TV shows of all time. I came upon this promo by accident today while looking for some trailers to review. This was released not too long ago today, so I’m pretty excited.

This looks pretty awesome.  First we see Finch ordering the Machine to protect everyone. An obvious flashback to when he was first building the Machine.

Then we see Reese talking to Carter to which she asks, “Why do you think she took him?” and he answers, “I don’t know”. So obviously Finch tells Carter about the situation so she can help him. The description for episode one of season two says that Reese gets Fusco and Carter to help him find Finch which is believable since he needs all the help he can get.

We then see Finch’s face with a red square. So we know by now a red square around someone means they’re in danger. So is something about to happen to Finch or is it saying that because the Machine knows he’s still under Root’s custody?

Reese then starts talking to camera’s again, but OH LOOK! It’s an asian man standing next to him. Who is this? I read somewhere that the Person Of Interest for episode one was an asian man but I can’t confirm it as of now. Some more theories? He could have information about the Machine or perhaps know Finch or something about him somehow.

We then end with Reese taking out some guys and smacking a guy on a motorcycle right in the face! YEAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

So I loved this. If you’ve never watched Person Of Interest before, start watching it. I highly recommend you start with episode one of season one, because if you start when season two starts, you’ll be very lost. Especially when it shows flashbacks.

‘Person Of Interest’ Season 2 starring Jim Caviezel, Michael Emerson, and Taraji P. Henson premiere September 27, 2012 at 9/8 PM on CBS.
