What is this conspiracy? I wake up on what seems to be a normal Saturday morning. I tune into Cartoon Network to see Ben 10: Omniverse just ending and The Clone Wars is about to start. So I watch The Clone Wars new episode, which was extraordinarly awesome like always, then I expect to see the 1 hour block of ‘DC Nation’. But what do I get? No, not Green Lantern: The Animated Series or Young Justice. I get the lame and boring How To Train Your Dragon spin-off for two straight episodes. New Young Justice and Green Lantern episodes did not air. After I stopped crying, I looked into the matter.
If you look on Twitter or Facebook, you’ll see many other angry fans arguing over the soon to be very controversial move by Cartoon Network.
Green Lantern producer Giancarlo Volpe explained that, “Apparently Cartoon Network preempted it in celebration of their 20th birthday. Their logic, not mine. I am very disappointed. […] Preempted means they replaced it (hopefully only temporarily) with How to Train Your Dragon.” Courtesy Of spinoff.com
DC Nation had just premiered this past March and has not dissapointed. Although the shows like Young Justice and Green Lantern TAS don’t live up to what the DC Animated Universe once was, and the new shorts such as Teen Titans and the Batman claymation are ‘decent’, DC Nation is a great block that everyone loves and wants back.
A little bit after the incident, Cartoon Network tweeted, “Hey #DCNation fans! Have you heard?? DC Nation will return in January with all new episodes!”
Are you kidding me? Green Lanter just began a new season and Young Justice is back from a freaking 6-month long or so hiatus. We’ve only gotten two new episodes from each then we have to wait two and a half months!?!? Come on!
‘DC Nation’ (Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Young Justice) will return to Cartoon Network in January 2013.
